Playa Coral (Coral Beach)

Halfway between Matanzas and Varadero is one of the most spectacular beaches in Cuba: Playa Coral. Its beauty lies in its incredible pinkish coral sand, in the warmth of its blue-green waters, and in the splendor concentrated in more than 2 km of coral reefs. In this area is found the second largest coral barrier in the world, not only for its size but also for the variety of underwater species. It is estimated that here live more than 50 species of fish of all colors and sizes, different types of sponges, as well as other crustaceans and aquatic species under the sea. This beach has little infrastructure, with plenty of space, is very natural and calm, ideal for relaxedly enjoying the sun, the beach, and the sea. It is characterized by being practically deserted. All these combined elements make Playa Coral one of the most impressive places in the Caribbean.
