El Nicho is an enclave of the Topes de Collantes Natural Park. Its name comes from a beautiful waterfall of crystalline waters that is in the Hanabanilla River, Cascada el Nicho.To get to the waterfall you have to follow a beautiful natural path of just over a kilometer known as the Kingdom of Waters, through which you can discover the fauna and flora of the area, such as tocororos and palmiches. You can take a refreshing swim in the numerous natural pools that you will find, such as the lovers' pool. Although El Nicho can be reached from both Cienfuegos and Trinidad, it is recommended to do it from Cienfuegos, since the road is more direct and you will not have to cross mountainous areas with irregular sections. If you go by private car you can leave it at the entrance, in a parking area there.
